JAMB UTME Requirements


subject combination needed to study Applied Geophysics under the Faculty of Sciences include;

  • English Language
  • Physics
  • Chemistry,
  • Biology
  • Mathematics.
    SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
    (i) UNICAL does not accept Biology.

(ii) FUTA and OAU require Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

O’Level Requirements


The O’level subject combination and requirements needed to study Applied Geophysics;
You require;Five (5) SSC credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Biology.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) OAU requires five `O’ level credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Biology/Further Mathematics, Mathematics and Physics
(ii) FUTA accepts candidates with five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language, Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry at not more than two (2) sittings or its equivalent

Direct Entry Requirements


These are the conditions you need to fulfill to gain Direct Entry admission to study Applied Geophysics, if you don’t intend to use UTME.
You require;’A’ level passes in Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i)  OAU requires ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics
(ii)  OAU accepts HND upper credit in Mining Engineering plus the UTME requirements.
(iii)  UNICAL – Same as for Physics. 
(iv) FUTA may admit candidates to 200 level if they have
(a)  satisfied the general entry requirements for  the University as specified in (a) above;  and
(b)  obtained ND  upper credit or its equivalent in Laboratory Technology Geology Option and in Mining, Civil and Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or any other programme adjudged relevant by the Department; or
(c)  ‘A’ level passes or its equivalent in two (2) of the following subjects: Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry.
